Ivona Kafedjiska

Ivona comes from Macedonia - a tiny, but sunny and gorgeous country in the Balkans filled with warm-hearted people. She was into Physics since the first class in primary school and decided to get her bachelor degree in Physics abroad - specifically at Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. After wandering around the Universe for a long time and dealing with cosmology, black holes and General Relativity, Ivona decided that maybe it was about time to step down to Earth again and pursue a Master in "Renewable Energy Engineering and Management" at the University of Freiburg. This master program enabled her to find out about HZB - where she did her summer internship. She is expected to finish her master studies this year and is currently working on her master thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg.

However, Ivona loves challenges, so she thought it might be a good idea to enroll in a second master program too - in Physics of course - and is currently finishing her first semester in MSc. Physics - also at the University of Freiburg. She will keep you informed about how that goes or you can just check it yourself on her linkedIn profile: https://de.linkedin.com/in/ivona-kafedjiska-227166ba.

When she is not busy, Ivona loves to clear her mind with long distance or trail running, dancing and travelling. Sometimes, she believes people when they tell her she is quite skilled with writing and should try something more than just reading plenty of books and writing as a hobby, so she finally decided to drink a few extra cups of coffee and write for a scientific blog. The rest of her life is a mystery even Ivona can't figure out.
