Dr. Iver Lauermann studied chemistry in Hamburg and Southampton and received his diploma in 1986. From 1987 to 1991 he worked as research associate at the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) in Hannover on the photo electrochemistry of silicon carbide. He received his PhD from the University of Hamburg in 1991. After postdoctoral work at the California Institute of Technology, he was department head at the Institute for Applied Photovoltaics (INAP) in Gelsenkirchen and has worked at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin since 2002. His field is the characterization of thin film solar cells and their components using synchrotron-based spectroscopy.
